Position: A55 Tunnel Operations Supervisor

Location: Colwyn Bay, Competitive Salary Offered

Dalkia Engineering is seeking a skilled A55 Tunnel Operations Supervisor to oversee specialized site operations. This role entails managing scheduled tunnel road closures, which follow a monthly shift pattern, and necessitates pre-tunnel coordination meetings with clients, as well as the supervision of various subcontracted labor forces.

The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the most efficient and effective configurations for tunnel electrical installations, along with the capability to maintain high productivity levels in their oversight. A thorough knowledge of the National Working Rules for the Electrical Contracting Industry, current IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671), Electricity at Work Regulations, and relevant British Standards and Codes of Practice is essential.

The position is based in Conwy, collaborating closely with the North and Mid Wales trunk road agency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage daily with client site management
  • Assess plant suitability and availability
  • Provide daily updates to the site maintenance team and Fault coordinator
  • Adapt shift patterns to meet contract requirements
  • Promote health and safety, ensuring compliance with all regulations
  • Prepare RAMS and conduct Shift Briefings

Essential Qualifications

  • Must meet the criteria for the grade of Approved Electrician.
  • A minimum of five years' experience as an Approved Electrician prior to application.
  • Possession of a higher technical qualification such as the City & Guilds 'C' Course Certificate or a Level 4 technical certificate in Building Services Engineering with an electrical installation focus (e.g., HNC or equivalent).
  • Completion of a recognized BS7671 course in Design and Verification of Electrical Installations.
  • Two categories of Technician roles are available: Site Technician and Installation Technician, each with specific requirements.
