About the Role

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Category Buying Assistant to join our fast-paced team. As a key member of our buying team, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing commercial data and market trends to support profitable sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Market and Competitor Understanding: Analyze market trends, competitor pricing structures, and marketing strategies to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Product Development: Identify new product sales opportunities, create development diaries, and track progress with factories.
  • Pricing and Costing: Conduct costing for new factory designs, cross-cost current designs, and update prices on the JDE price list.
  • Critical Path Management: Set up critical paths with factories to ensure timely shipment dates, create and send packaging and photography forms, and track products at risk.
  • Range Management: Ensure accurate and up-to-date costing sheets, add new lines, and remove discontinued lines for seasonal negotiations.
  • Customer Meetings: Create initial PowerPoint presentations for internal and customer meetings.
Requirements
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for internal and external meetings.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to understand product specifications and develop products that meet customer needs.
