Job Title: UPS Field Service Engineer

We are seeking a skilled UPS Field Service Engineer to join our team in Bedford, UK. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of UPS equipment, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform start-ups, maintenance, and emergency repairs for Vertiv UPS, battery, power distribution, and site monitoring equipment.
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with customers, salesmen, distributors, and other stakeholders within the area.
  • Communicate effectively with Call Control and departmental management to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Ensure spare parts are properly accounted for and maintained in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assist in achieving a minimum 90% planned maintenance completion rate.
  • Collaborate with Call Control to schedule, plan, and complete works as required, utilizing established workflow procedures.
  • Maintain the accuracy of customer listings by reporting errors with the site change form.
  • Report sales or service leads to the relevant department via the correct process.
  • Submit daily paperwork in a timely, accurate, and complete manner, and ensure the job is debriefed in a complete and accurate manner at the customer's premises where possible.
  • Be available to work during weekends and nights as required.
Requirements:
  • HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in a technical service or test environment of UPS equipment is essential.
  • Computer literacy in office-associated programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Previous field service experience is mandatory.
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong communication abilities.
  • A self-starter with the ability to plan, organize, and manage time effectively, working under pressure.
  • A clean, valid driving license.
