The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is in search of a seasoned security expert to fulfill the role of Principal Security Manager for the Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) region.

This critical position entails the protection of the Bank's operations, assets, and personnel across a diverse and dynamic area that encompasses countries such as Kenya, Ghana, Benin, Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire, and Senegal.


Strategic Security Management:

Formulate and execute a comprehensive security framework tailored for the SSA region, ensuring it aligns with EBRD's global security protocols. Develop and uphold effective emergency response strategies to address potential security threats, natural calamities, and deteriorating safety conditions.


Facility and Residential Security:

Supervise the physical and technological security measures of EBRD facilities and staff accommodations, ensuring adherence to EBRD and United Nations (UN) standards. This includes the management of contracted security personnel and third-party service providers.

Ensure compliance with EBRD and UN Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) operational procedures for all business travel within the SSA region, maintaining strict movement protocols.


Training and Capacity Building:

Partner with the Headquarters team to implement impactful security training initiatives for EBRD personnel and consultants, ensuring that all training is relevant, effective, and budget-conscious.


Threat Intelligence and Risk Assessment:

Continuously assess security risks, conduct thorough risk evaluations, and provide timely updates and reports to staff and management. Collaborate with the Headquarters Security Analyst to develop country-specific security risk assessments.


Stakeholder Engagement:

Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with local and regional stakeholders, including Embassies, UNDSS, law enforcement, and security agencies, to enhance intelligence sharing and response effectiveness.


Professional Experience:

Demonstrated experience as a security professional with a significant background in law enforcement, military, or security services, particularly in high-risk or unstable environments.

Extensive expertise in the formulation and execution of security and emergency protocols, including Executive Protection for Senior Management and VIPs.


Project Oversight:

Possess strong project management capabilities with the proficiency to oversee intricate security operations.


Language Proficiency:

Fluent in English (both written and spoken); proficiency in French is a plus but not mandatory.


Training Delivery:

Experienced in conducting structured training programs for diverse audiences.


Qualifications:
