Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Support Worker to join the excellent Theatre team at St Hugh's Hospital.

Main Duties

To provide high-quality support to the Theatre team, ensuring the smooth operation of the department and delivering exceptional patient care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the RGN/ODP in delivering patient care by undertaking non-clinical duties under supervision.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the Theatre Department, adhering to Hospital policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring the care and maintenance of equipment, as well as being conversant with the Stores ordering system and stock levels.
  • Liaising between Theatres and the ward to escort patients to Theatre prior to their operation.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic IT Skills.
  • The ability to plan and control the use of resources.

Desirable Qualifications

  • NVQ in Health and Social Care.

Essential Experience

  • Previous experience in management of stock control.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in Operating Theatres.

Personal Qualities

  • Organised.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to use own initiative.
