Wildlife Conservation Project Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Ornithology Consultant to join our team at RSK Biocensus. As an ornithologist, you will be responsible for managing and delivering all elements of ornithological field surveys, assessment, tender and report writing, and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and undertake a broad range of bird surveys, including BBS, winter bird surveys, species-specific surveys, offshore surveys, and vantage point surveys.
- Design and implement mitigation strategies to minimize the impact of human activities on bird populations.
- Manage project finances, including budgeting and cost control.
- Produce high-quality tenders and reports that meet client requirements.
- Lead project teams and provide guidance and support to junior team members.
- Collaborate with colleagues to provide ornithological support on projects.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in commercial consultancy.
- Technical competence in bird surveys and species identification.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong report writing skills, including survey reports, EcIAs, HRAs, and tenders.
- Full driving license.
- Membership of CIEEM (Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management).
