Job Summary:
Our client in Western Australia is seeking skilled and dedicated Forestry Workers to join their team. As a Forestry Worker, you will be responsible for assisting with various tasks related to forest management and conservation. This is a hands-on role that requires physical stamina and a passion for the outdoors.
**Responsibilities**:
- Conduct forest surveys and assessments to gather data on tree species, health, and growth patterns
- Assist in the implementation of forest management plans, including tree planting, thinning, and harvesting
- Perform tree maintenance tasks such as pruning, trimming, and removal
- Monitor and control invasive species to protect the health of the forest ecosystem
- Collect and analyse data using tools such as Python, AutoCAD, QGIS, and ArcGIS
- Assist with scientific research projects related to forestry and environmental conservation
- Operate and maintain forestry equipment and tools
- Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with environmental regulations
**Experience**:
- Previous experience in forestry or related field is preferred but not required
- Mechanical knowledge for operating forestry equipment is a plus
- Familiarity with scientific research methods and data analysis skills
- Knowledge of gardening or plant care techniques is beneficial
- Proficiency in using software such as AutoCAD, QGIS, and ArcGIS
