Job Opportunity at Edinburgh Woollen Mill

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Womenswear Buyer to join our vibrant head office team at our Head Office in Carlisle, Cumbria.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To develop and implement product ranges and presentation in line with agreed product strategy, brand values, and store image, ensuring the ranges represent the agreed image and value levels.
  • Utilizing historic data and trends, plan and implement product strategies for areas in conjunction with the Merchandiser to meet agreed sales and margin objectives.
  • Working with the Sourcing Manager, develop and implement strategies for intake margin growth, ensuring security of supply and risk assessment.
  • Drive the front-end product development strategy and implementation, ensuring progress of sampling, fabric, and pricing in line with required dates.
  • Ensure range plans, product briefs, design briefs, fabric briefs, fit sessions, and color issues are completed in full to agreed dates within the critical path.
  • Communicate effectively and in full internally and externally regarding any amendments to range plans.
  • Work with Design, Visual Merchandising, and Marketing to ensure effective planning and implementation of window strategies, visuals, photography, range manuals, layout guidelines, and other visual elements.
  • Continuously review product performance and trends to maximize sales and margin on season and forward, and take appropriate action.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of stores, competition, opportunities, and threats through store visits and detailed market studies.
  • Manage and evaluate the supplier base in areas required, and provide effective management and coaching of line reports.
  • Manage costs in line with agreed budgets and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Buyer in clothing.
  • Womenswear clothing experience.
  • Experience with a similar retailer and customers.
