Job Title: Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry to join our team at NHS Scotland.

About the Role:

This is a full-time post (10 sessions) with the opportunity to discuss up to 2 EPA or working flexibly. The post is based in the North West Division, part of Greater Glasgow and Clyde, and involves working with an Older Adult Community Mental Health Team (OACMHT) at The Woodlands Resource Centre, Kirkintilloch Glasgow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside 5 Old Age Consultants and 5 Old Age Speciality Doctors to provide high-quality care to older adults with mental health problems.
  • Offer outpatient, inpatient, and domiciliary assessments, working collaboratively with other professionals and agencies.
  • Participate in the development of the OACMHT, contributing to the team's goals and objectives.
  • Engage in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.

Requirements:

  • Full GMC Registration and a license to practise.
  • Eligibility for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register, with higher specialist training leading to CCT or within 6 months of confirmed entry.
  • Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
