Senior Cable Jointer

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Cable Jointer, you will play a crucial role in managing mains and service cable jointing within electrical distribution systems. Your expertise will ensure that safety and efficiency are prioritized throughout all operations.

Main Duties
  • Execute mains and service cable jointing tasks on electrical distribution networks.
  • Provide supervision and mentorship to Jointer Mates, offering guidance and support.
  • Facilitate training sessions for team members, sharing your extensive knowledge and skills.
  • Maintain relevant authorisations for working on three-phase distribution networks.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and job specifications for yourself and your team.
  • Take responsibility for health and safety measures, ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Demonstrate adaptability by working independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • Engage with customers professionally, delivering high-quality service.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and uphold safe working practices.
Qualifications and Skills Required
  • Completion of a recognized Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent training in street lighting and low voltage services.
  • Proven electrical expertise with qualifications such as C & G 236 Parts 1 & 2 / 2330 Level 1 & 2, or similar, supported by substantial trade experience.
  • Possession of the 18th edition BS7671 wiring regulations qualification.
  • Previous Full G39 qualification is essential.
  • Current NRSWA Accreditation is required.
  • Valid First Aid and Manual Handling certifications.
  • Authorization to perform three-phase underground connections to distribution networks.
  • Ability to interpret operational and 1:500 electrical network diagrams.
  • CSCS accreditation is necessary.
  • A valid driving license is mandatory.
