Job Title: Band 8a Hospital Therapy Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 8a Hospital Therapy Lead to join our team at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Stroke and Neurotherapy teams at Poole and Royal Bournemouth Hospital, requiring flexible working across sites.

As a key member of our Leadership Team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our services and contributing to the development of innovative and effective service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Stroke and Neurotherapy teams, providing strategic direction and guidance to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement effective operational plans, working closely with departmental teams to achieve demanding goals.
  • Manage budgets, staff, and resources, ensuring efficient use of resources and effective team management.
  • Contribute to the development of new services and partnerships, looking beyond existing structures and boundaries to produce more effective and innovative service delivery.
  • Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to improve patient services, ensuring a clear performance focus on achieving demanding goals.
Requirements:
  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent in OT/PT/SALT.
  • State registration with HCPC.
  • Relevant post-graduate training at Masters level.
  • MSC in associated subject.
  • Professional qualification to higher Diploma/MSc level.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including proven listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to work using own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Successful team leadership/motivation and development of others.
  • Practical commitment to personal development.
  • Self-motivation.
  • Ability to manage and deliver to deadlines and within resources.
  • Ability to analyse highly complex problems and develop practical and workable solutions.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Contracting and Equipment Procurement Practice.
