The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused individual to fill the position of Customer Service Deputy Clerk in the Chesterfield Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court. This role requires a strong ability to interact professionally with the public, attorneys, and other court-related agencies, providing exceptional customer service as a front-line representative.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to the public, attorneys, and other court-related agencies
- Process payments for court fines and costs, and receive, date-stamp, and disseminate petitions, motions, appeals, and other filings according to documented procedures
- Answer legal and case-related questions posed by the public, attorneys, and other court-related staff
- Perform various clerical and court case processing duties, including data entry, mail processing, and issuing subpoenas
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college education preferred
- Previous experience in a similar position in a court setting or relevant judicial system experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant experience working in a trauma-informed environment
- Experience providing face-to-face customer service interactions in a challenging environment
