The Group Product Controller position is a crucial and newly established role within our finance department, aimed at bolstering our strategic initiatives for product diversification and growth. This position is accountable for the precise validation and reporting of profit and loss (P&L) across all trading desks on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in maintaining the financial integrity and performance of both new and existing products, delivering essential insights to senior management and contributing to the company's enduring success.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily P&L Validation and Reporting: Ensure accurate validation and reporting of daily profit and loss figures for all product lines, encompassing futures, options, cash equities, and treasury products. Maintain data accuracy and consistency across all reporting platforms. Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.Weekly and Monthly Financial Reporting: Generate and present comprehensive weekly and monthly financial reports, including variance analysis and commentary on P&L performance. Collaborate with finance, risk, and product teams to ensure alignment on financial results and key metrics.Product Performance Analysis: Execute thorough analysis of product performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for enhancement. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management to drive profitability and support strategic decision-making.Support Product Diversification and Expansion: Collaborate closely with product teams to assess the financial implications of new product launches and expansions. Develop and sustain robust financial models to evaluate the profitability of new products and initiatives. Monitor and report on the financial performance of new products post-launch.Financial Controls and Compliance: Establish and uphold strong financial controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Liaise with external auditors during financial audits and reviews.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with key stakeholders across the organization to support business objectives. Build and maintain relationships with both Front Office and other control areas including Risk, Treasury, FP&A, and Operations, gaining a commercial understanding of the relevant businesses and their operational processes.

Key Skills and Experience:

Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)Demonstrated experience in product control, financial reporting, or a similar role within the financial services sector.Strong understanding of financial products, particularly in futures, options, cash equities, and treasury.Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, analysis, and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI).Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.Ability to interact with senior management and Front Office staff.Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Experience with financial control frameworks and regulatory requirements is advantageous.
