Position Overview

As an integral member of the Subway Operations team, you will be tasked with ensuring the timely operation of trains in alignment with established Subway regulations. A significant part of your responsibilities will involve upholding Customer Service Standards consistently, while prioritizing the safety of passengers by adhering to all relevant signals, particularly those related to Automatic Train Operation systems. You will also be required to respond appropriately to any operational failures or emergencies that may arise.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates must be at least 21 years old, possess physical fitness to pass a safety-critical medical examination, including color vision assessment. Strong communication, interpersonal, numeracy, and literacy skills are essential. We seek team-oriented individuals who are eager to contribute to the Subway's operations and are motivated to advance their careers. The ability to maintain focus for extended periods is crucial, as is the capacity to make critical decisions when necessary, which will be evaluated through functional ability assessments. A minimum educational qualification of National 5 level in English and Maths/Arithmetic (or equivalent) is required.

The role entails an average of 39 hours per week, working any 5 days out of 7 on a shift basis (earliest start at 05:30hrs, latest finish at 24:00hrs). You will also provide night shift coverage as needed for Mainline Testing of new rolling stock to fulfill operational requirements. Your primary location will be Govan, covering all Subway Stations as required.
