Carnival is broadening our cadetship offerings and is pleased to present the Engineer Graduate Cadetship program.

This postgraduate pathway is tailored for individuals holding relevant Engineering qualifications and provides a fast-tracked route to obtaining an Engineering Officer of the Watch Certificate of competency.

If you have completed an engineering qualification (either mechanical or electrical) and are contemplating your career path, this opportunity is for you.

As a graduate cadet in the engineering officer role, you will apply your engineering knowledge in practical settings while gaining insights into the operation and upkeep of the ship's engine room and its mechanical/electrical systems.

You will be required to assess challenges arising in the intricate, high-tech environment of a modern cruise vessel, make swift decisions, and implement effective corrective actions.

We will be looking for candidates who demonstrate a solid understanding of engineering principles and practical skills.
Before applying, please ensure you meet the following criteria:

  • Candidates must have completed a relevant engineering apprenticeship and/or be a qualified engineer.
Eligible candidates for the graduate cadetship may include:

  • University Graduates or holders of a Higher National Diploma (HND) (preferably in Mechanical, Marine, or Electrical Engineering or in an engineering discipline that encompasses at least four of the following six subjects: Mathematics, Engineering Drawing, Applied Mechanics, Applied Heat, Electrotechnology, and Naval Architecture).
  • Individuals with a suitable engineering apprenticeship (NVQ level 3 or above).
  • GCSE Grade 4-9 or equivalent.
  • Possession of an ENG1 certificate.
All graduate cadetships will necessitate a Letter of Initial Assessment (LIA) issued by an accredited Maritime Education Establishment.
*All candidates must be UK or EEA citizens and have resided in the UK for at least one year prior to application, with the right to live and work in the UK without restrictions.*
