Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transport Operations Coordinator to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating transportation operations, ensuring that all logistics activities are carried out efficiently and effectively.
The role will involve working closely with our customers, sub-contractors, and internal teams to ensure that all transportation requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and coordinate transportation operations to meet customer requirements
- Manage and maintain a strong sub-contractor pool to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation services
- Generate detailed reports to identify areas for improvement within the transportation function
- Communicate effectively with customers, sub-contractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless logistics operations
- Ensure all transportation activities are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Minimum of 1 year's experience in a fast-paced transportation or logistics environment
- Numerate - Ability to work with numerical data
- Highly competent with PC literate - Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and transportation IT/web-based systems
- Excellent customer service and administration skills
- Highly organized, self-sufficient, and able to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines
- Be flexible in your approach to work and hours
- Good UK geographical knowledge
- Reliable in approach to work and adaptable to fit into different teams and environments
- Professional in appearance and manner
- Adaptable to change and a strong team player
