We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Rating to join our team at Boskalis. As a Technical Rating, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all machinery and electrical equipment onboard our vessels, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet.
Main Responsibilities:- Conduct regular inspections of machinery and machinery spaces to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize vessel availability.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Superintendent to plan and execute maintenance and repair work, ensuring minimal disruption to vessel operations.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed and that all personnel are trained in emergency procedures.
- Monitor and report on vessel performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of spare parts and equipment.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve vessel operations and maintenance.
- 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the maritime industry.
- Formal qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
