Payroll Officer Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our team in Redditch. As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring all employees are paid correctly and treated confidentially.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Piecework System: Calculate and pay bonuses correctly.
  • Complete Week/Month End Processes: Ensure all payrolls are processed accurately and on time.
  • Ensure Authorizations: Apply company policy and update payroll system accordingly.
  • Process Sickness Absences: Ensure sickness is paid correctly and in line with company policy.
  • Third Party Payments: Process and pay all Third Party Payments, including HMRC.
  • Statutory Payments: Apply and pay Statutory Payments correctly for all payrolls.
  • Maintain Payroll Records: Update payroll records on the payroll system.
  • Pension Scheme Administration: Assist with administration and uploading of required data for the group's pension schemes.
  • P11d Administration: Assist with administration of P11ds, ensuring all changes in company cars are submitted in real time.
  • Full Tax Year End Processes: Assist with full tax year end processes for all payrolls.
  • Provide Cover: Provide full cover during periods of holiday and absence for all Payroll team members.
  • Reports: Produce reports from payroll and HR systems.
Requirements:
  • Payroll Experience: Experienced, confidential, and organized payroll professional.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Able to work accurately and methodically at speed, coping with strict weekly and monthly deadline pressures.
  • Problem Solving: Attention to detail and logical problem-solving abilities.
  • Supervisory Experience: Experience of supervising staff.
  • IT Literacy: IT literate with payroll systems experience and excellent Excel skills.
  • Knowledge: Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of payroll and related matters.
  • Team Player: Flexible, hardworking, and honest individual who can work as part of a team.

In return, you can expect a competitive basic salary of £28,000-£33,000, depending on your experience.
