Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Senior Accountant to join our team on a fixed-term contract. This pivotal role will report directly to the Financial Controller EMEA and is essential for providing a precise and consistent accounting service for designated divisions.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for leading a team within the Record to Report (R2R) function, ensuring the delivery of exceptional accounting services that uphold balance sheet integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the monthly closing process for Management Accounts, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet, ensuring timely reconciliations, accruals, allocations, revenue downloads, pre-payments, and variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with Balance Sheet Integrity guidelines through meticulous reconciliations.
  • Timely escalation of issues to the Finance Manager as necessary.
  • Manage Financial Reporting and Analysis, including Group reporting and supplementary requests.
  • Lead and mentor a team of R2R accounting professionals, ensuring effective planning and prioritization of tasks to enhance team performance.
  • Publish financial results in the appropriate finance systems.
  • Facilitate communication between the Shared Service Organization (SSO), Group finance, and Business Teams.
  • Participate in acquisition integration and due diligence processes.
  • Engage in departmental projects, including key process testing and systems improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors.
  • Assist in integrating new products into the SSO accounting framework.
  • Utilize analytical skills to resolve ad-hoc issues.
  • Fulfill tax and compliance responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with experience leading an R2R team in a large-scale function.
  • Comprehensive understanding of R2R processes and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of SSO processes and their broader implications.
  • Proven ability to guide a team through challenging situations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality work.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated decision-making capabilities based on available information.
  • Effective people management skills with a focus on talent development.
  • Strong presentation abilities.
