**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Physical Design Engineer Intern to join our team. As a Physical Design Engineer Intern, you will work with our team responsible for Physical Design-related project tasks for Microchip's MCU, MPU, and WSG Business Units.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Implement and document physical design tasks such as floor planning, placement optimization, clock tree synthesis, routing, EMIR, and physical verification.
  • Physical Design flow development, automation, and documentation.
  • Collaboration with multiple teams across a geographically diverse company to achieve desired design goals.

**Requirements/Qualifications**

  • Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Coursework in Digital design and Logic synthesis.
  • Scripting skills in Python, TCL, and Perl.
  • Understand VLSI concepts in circuit design.
  • Understanding of logic timing requirements (setup/hold) is a plus.
  • Excellent debugging and analytical skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
