As a Senior Technical Author, you will be responsible for creating and compiling high-quality technical documentation for armoured land vehicles, working closely with our customers and internal teams to ensure successful delivery of tasks aligned to project and customer specifications.

About the Role
  • Manage customer and internal technical relationships to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Act as the operational and day-to-day technical expert, providing key support and guidance to the production team.
  • Scope and define tasks ready for production, ensuring quality and project KPIs are successfully met.
  • Monitor deliverables to ensure accuracy and timeliness, working closely with the Project Manager to create development strategies.
  • Develop process, training, and production methods to support efficiency gains and continuous improvement.
  • Work with the wider organisation to understand customer needs and develop solutions for new business opportunities.
Requirements
  • UK nationality and SC level clearance or no known reason why clearance may not be granted.
  • Extensive technical and engineering competence gained in a relevant industry and environment, ideally military.
  • Knowledge of the technical documentation environment within an engineering field.
  • Proven experience in creating and compiling Army Equipment Support Publications (AESPs), demonstrating an understanding of military standards and specifications.
  • Familiarity with heavy armour, including armoured land vehicles, with an ability to understand and document complex mechanical systems and components.
  • Familiarity with the defence industry and associated security process.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong English language capability.
  • Strong stakeholder management and conflict resolution abilities.
