Role Overview:

Are you prepared to take on a pivotal role in maintaining one of the busiest transport routes in the world?

As a Tunnel Operations Technician, you will be integral to the effective functioning of the M25 Tunnels and Pump Stations. You will collaborate with a dedicated team responsible for executing essential maintenance activities, supporting our experienced crew under the supervision of the Tunnel Operations Supervisor.

Your daily responsibilities will encompass a varied range of practical tasks, from routine maintenance to addressing unforeseen issues, ensuring that no two days are alike. While this position does not entail financial duties, you will have the chance to lead visitors and students, demonstrating the intriguing mechanics of the tunnel systems.

You will work closely with our committed internal teams, including the Tunnel Operations Supervisor and Service Delivery Management, and partner with external entities such as National Highways and various contractors. Your role is vital in upholding the safety and functionality of this essential infrastructure. Join us in the mission to ensure millions of journeys are safe and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate tunnel vehicles as necessary, whether during scheduled maintenance closures or in response to urgent tasks. Assist Tunnel Operations Technicians in completing maintenance assignments. Maintain daily logs and maintenance reports relevant to your tasks, such as drive-through documentation. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines. Provide oversight to designated subcontractors, ensuring compliance with site regulations. Perform various manual, semi-skilled, or skilled tasks of any trade type as directed by the Tunnel Operations Supervisor. Undertake additional duties as required by Line Managers. Uphold Connect Plus Services' core values and behaviors. Maintain a strong commitment to Zero Harm principles. Support the implementation of the business's sustainability initiatives.

Required Experience:

Skills & Qualifications:

Valid UK Driver's License. HGV Class 1 or 2 professional driving license. Current CPC Drivers Card. IPAF certification for MEWPS & Booms (preferred). Confined space training (preferred). CSCS Safety Card or equivalent. Familiarity with current Health & Safety regulations. Capability to work independently when necessary.

Willingness to undertake additional training for National Highways projects. Experience in Mechanical / Electrical Maintenance environments. Strong customer service abilities.
