About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Lead to join our Digital Engineering team at Nationwide Building Society. As a key member of our technical leadership team, you will be responsible for providing technical direction and oversight to our engineering teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our customers and members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and direction to engineering teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architecture, delivery, and operational teams, to ensure alignment with the Society's strategy and architecture roadmap.
  • Develop and maintain technical standards and guidelines, ensuring consistency and best practices across the organization.
  • Lead the development and implementation of complex solutions, working closely with engineers and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, helping them to develop their skills and expertise.
  • Contribute to the development of the engineering team, ensuring that we are optimally positioned to deliver our vision.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience working in digital technologies and deliveries in a senior capacity.
  • Experience in development of and troubleshooting complex, large-scale, fault-tolerant systems.
  • Solid background in programming in a modern programming language, such as Swift, Kotlin,.Net, or React.
  • Knowledge of Sencha framework or Service Mesh technologies, such as Istio or Gloomesh.
  • Experience in leading technical teams across the IT disciplines of Application, Test, and Infrastructure.
  • Experience in stakeholder management, including influencing external departments and stakeholders.
  • SME in mobile applications technologies and patterns.
  • Demonstrable evidence of Continuous Improvement/Continuous Delivery through Automation.
