About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at HMP Winchester, a Category B Local remand prison. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of Pharmacy Services, which will be part of a comprehensive healthcare package based on the prison's needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of Pharmacy Services, including medicine management, administering medications, patient counseling, and medicines reconciliation.
- Participate in day-to-day operational management of the unit, ensuring you are trained and competent to take on additional responsibilities.
- Assess patients' needs, undertake risk assessments, and provide sound patient counseling skills, treating patients with respect and dignity at all times.
Requirements
- Hold an ACT qualification and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Have relevant post-qualification experience working within a pharmacy environment and multi-disciplinary team.
- Be able to work autonomously and demonstrate self-motivation, initiative, and a willingness to learn and develop skills.
