About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cancer Pharmacy Specialist to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Cancer Pharmacy Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care to adult cancer patients, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care to adult cancer patients, including clinical checking of systemic anticancer treatment (SACT) and SACT clinical trial prescriptions.
  • Participate in pharmacy services to the Day Treatment Unit to optimize patients' medication and reduce medicines wastage.
  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to review and prescribe SACT, working closely with consultants and other members of the MDT.
  • Participate in clinical trials, including phase I, II, and III trials, and contribute to the development of new treatments and therapies.
  • Develop and maintain aseptic services within our Clinical Trials Aseptics Unit (CTASU), ensuring high-quality preparation and dispensing of sterile products.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of pharmacy services, including the development of new protocols and guidelines.
  • Participate in the band cancer pharmacist rotation, rotating through various clinical areas, including oncology, haematology, and palliative care.
