Operations Assistant
This esteemed independent educational institution offers a remarkable environment for both living and working. Established in the early 17th century, it boasts a stunning 250-acre campus that enhances the teaching and learning experience. Core Responsibilities
The role encompasses a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: maintaining cleanliness within the school, preparing rooms for events, managing mail, handling laundry, overseeing housekeeping, and coordinating waste and recycling efforts. Many of these responsibilities may involve tight deadlines and collaboration with various departments across the institution. Operations Assistants are expected to perform the following duties as directed by the Supervisor.
Key Duties
  • Prepare venues throughout the school to meet the required standards for both internal and external events, including special Enterprise events during non-term periods.
  • Provide support during examinations by ensuring the proper setup of furniture, equipment, and necessary documentation within specified timeframes.
  • Collect and manage mail from various locations on campus, processing both internal and external correspondence.
  • Oversee logistics on-site, including the collection and disposal of waste and recycling materials.
  • Facilitate the supply and movement of furniture as needed for student buildings or event setups.
  • Manage the central storage and distribution of cleaning supplies to designated areas.
  • Collaborate with the Laundry team by collecting and returning laundry according to the established schedule.
  • Possess the ability to operate school vehicles, including the Luton tailgate van.
  • Maintain cleanliness in designated areas of the school to a professional standard when required.
  • Report to the Operations Supervisor, Assistant Operations Manager, and Operations Manager.
Additional Responsibilities
Attend all mandatory training sessions, including COSHH, Fire Safety, Manual Handling, and Safeguarding. There is an opportunity to receive First Aid training if necessary.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary is set at £12.00 per hour. Overtime on weekdays and evenings is compensated at £14.52 per hour, while weekend work is paid at £19.09 per hour.
Working Hours
This position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with an unpaid hour for lunch. Occasional work on bank holidays may be necessary to support events. Certain days may be designated as normal working days.
