Position Overview

The Cell Culture Specialist will oversee the daily management of cell cultures while supporting broader laboratory functions. This role is tailored to enhance the productivity of our scientists by handling general laboratory responsibilities, enabling them to concentrate on the scientific advancement of cell cultures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cell Line Management: Conduct comprehensive cell culture tasks, including maintaining cell lines in optimal growth conditions, monitoring passage numbers, and managing the freezing and thawing of cell stocks.
  • Routine Laboratory Procedures: Execute standard cell-based assays such as flow cytometry, ELISA, viability assessments, stability tests, and mycoplasma detection.
  • Laboratory Support: Assist in the procurement and management of laboratory supplies and reagents, uphold laboratory cleanliness, and organize laboratory resources efficiently.
  • Collaborative Engagement: Collaborate closely with fellow research associates to facilitate cell culture activities and contribute to the team’s scientific objectives.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Cell Culture Expertise: Practical experience in cell culture, preferably from a cell line development or supply laboratory in the biotechnology sector.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with primary cells, induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), and various assays such as flow cytometry and ELISA.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to diligently follow SOPs and utilize electronic lab notebooks.
  • Flexibility: Capability to perform both routine and complex laboratory tasks while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
