Job Title: Senior/Principal Economist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior/Principal Economist to join our team at The Economist. As a key member of our research department, you will be responsible for leading economic research and analysis to inform our publications and policy recommendations.

About the Role

The Senior/Principal Economist will be responsible for:

  • Leading research projects on economic policy and development issues
  • Conducting economic analysis and modeling to inform policy decisions
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials and private sector leaders
  • Collaborating with other researchers and analysts to develop and implement research projects
  • Communicating research findings and policy recommendations through publications and presentations
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A PhD in Economics or a related field
  • At least 8 years of experience in economic research and analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
