Position Overview
Westmoore Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Finance Officer to enhance the financial operations within our client's finance department. This role will report directly to the Group Finance Manager and collaborate closely with the finance team to ensure the delivery of precise and timely financial data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate monthly invoices in line with project agreements and collaborate with Managers to assess income and outstanding debts.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, including reviews of monthly profit and loss accounts and balance sheets.
  • Oversee the monthly payroll process.
  • Reconcile financial data in Xero with other platforms (such as rent, expenses, and payroll).
  • Provide support for all financial and rental systems.
  • Monitor and update the expense management system and purchase ledger, ensuring accuracy and proper authorization.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues outside the finance department to guarantee the accuracy and timely receipt of financial information.
  • Support the development and maintenance of financial protocols.
  • Cover essential duties of other finance team members during their absences, provided adequate training has been received.
  • Assist the finance team as necessary.

Required Systems Knowledge
  • Xero (accounting software)
  • Excel (intermediate proficiency)
  • Moss (expense management)
  • Employment Hero (HR, Payroll, and Benefits system)
  • Salesforce (Customer Relationship Management)

Qualifications and Skills
  • Completion or progress towards AAT level 3 or 4 is advantageous.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proactive problem solver.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative spirit.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Excel and generally tech-savvy.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Annual salary range of £23,000 - £26,000.
  • 37 hours per week, with flexible start and finish times.
  • 25 days of annual leave plus public holidays.
  • Additional day off for your birthday after one year of service.
  • Pension plan with a 5% employee contribution and 3% employer contribution.
  • Standard working hours from 09:00 to 17:00, with an early finish at 16:30 on Fridays.
  • Office-based role with some flexibility for confidential tasks.

Our client, Hull and East Yorkshire Mind, is a well-established voluntary sector organization dedicated to supporting individuals, primarily in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire. They provide essential services to address the needs of children, young people, and adults facing mental health challenges. With a diverse range of services, they employ approximately 150 contracted staff and around 50 bank workers, supported by over 100 volunteers. Their subsidiary, Wellington Care, specializes in providing person-centered care for adults with severe mental health conditions, learning disabilities, and autism.
