Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Handling Field Service Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Handling Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing a range of material handling equipment, including forklift trucks, gas, diesel, and electric powered forklift trucks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on material handling equipment, including forklift trucks, gas, diesel, and electric powered forklift trucks.
  • Conduct thorough examinations and preventative maintenance on equipment, including lubricating steering and lifting equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults on material handling equipment, including electrical drive and control systems, diesel and LPG engines, and common drive-trains.
  • Work on mobile machinery, including brakes, steering, wheels, lift chains, and other components.
  • Liaise with our parts team to ensure appropriate stock levels are held on the company vehicle.
  • Respond to breakdowns and provide prompt customer service to minimize downtime.
  • Complete documentation to company standards and achieve agreed targets, including response time.

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving license.
  • City and Guilds in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering related field.
  • Diagnostic computer skills.
  • Qualified in related field or similar years' experience.
  • Able to work unsupervised as required.
  • Experience in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering in heavy goods / plant machinery / automotive.
