About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team at Crown Lift Trucks Ltd. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out service and repairs to equipment on customer sites in a safe, professional, and cost-effective manner.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or hydraulics, and will be able to work independently and as part of a team. You will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out inspections and monitoring the safety of repaired and maintained trucks
  • Accurately completing job sheets, timesheets, and purchase requisition and parts paperwork within the required timescales
  • Taking responsibility for all equipment and tooling, including van, laptop, and tablet, and ensuring it is in a safe condition for the type of work being undertaken
  • Working to strict planned schedules and deadlines

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work to a high standard, and be able to work to timescales as required. You will also have the ability to work independently and in a team, and be willing to accept additional training to excel within Crown Lift Trucks Ltd.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out service and repairs to equipment on customer sites
  • Monitor the safety of repaired and maintained trucks
  • Complete job sheets, timesheets, and purchase requisition and parts paperwork
  • Take responsibility for all equipment and tooling
  • Work to strict planned schedules and deadlines
Requirements
  • Full UK driving license
  • Proficient in fault finding and repair
  • Educated to a high standard, with a strong background in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or hydraulics
  • Experience of Health & Safety requirements working in a workshop practice
  • Commitment to continuing personal and professional development
  • Excellent organizational skills, resourceful, and solution-driven
  • A high standard of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritizing workloads to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently or in a team
  • Clear communication skills – oral and written
  • Consultation and negotiation skills
  • Flexibility to cope with diverse needs of the post
  • Highly motivated and possessing a resilience to work under pressure
