Job Title: Application Support Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer to join our IT team in Manchester. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing customer-focused 1st and 2nd line support, managing incidents, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1st and 2nd line application support, managing incidents and escalations through to resolution.
  • Communicate effectively with business stakeholders, internal and/or 3rd party support teams.
  • Perform root cause analysis of issues to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Create, review, and maintain support documentation for deploying and configuring applications.
  • Support internal projects with technical design reviews and environment builds/deployment.

As part of this role, you will be required to form part of the on-call rota to respond to out-of-hours critical incidents.

Requirements:
  • Experience managing Windows Server, IIS & Active Directory Services.
  • Knowledge of T-SQL (MS SQL) and/or PL/SQL.
  • Knowledge of minor programming or scripting (.NET / PowerShell).
  • Experience using an IT Service Management Tool.
  • An understanding of IT service management processes (e.g. ITIL).
  • Experience of Microsoft Dynamics (2012AX and 365) would be desirable.
  • Experience of software deployment processes/systems would be desirable.
