Job Title: Interim Transport Operations Manager

Culina Logistics is seeking an experienced Interim Transport Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of our transport operation, ensuring that all daily targets are met in the most cost-effective, efficient, and safe manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Proactively contribute to the long-term resource planning of the site, including asset and recruitment planning.
  2. Work collaboratively with our Myworkforce team to ensure compliance with all MWF tasks, including resource planning and cost-effective utilization of drivers and equipment.
  3. Proactively seek to understand financial performance of the operation and take ownership for addressing inefficiencies that impact the depot's P&L.
  4. Actively promote and ensure compliance with transport policies, procedures, and legislation.
  5. Develop the Transport team in increasing engagement, communication, and people development.
  6. Manage and develop a team of Drivers, Shift Managers, and Front Desk personnel to deliver a high-quality service to customers.
  7. Responsible for ensuring adherence to Health & Safety, Employment legislation, and Company policy.
  8. Lead and partner with Health & Safety representatives on local and site initiatives, including H&S induction and training.
  9. Responsible for creating, reporting, and analyzing departmental management information to improve business performance.
  10. Ensure all vehicles are compliant with legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
  11. Ensure all transport staff deliver the service appropriate to the changing needs of customers, in line with relevant guidance and individual risk assessments.
  12. Build constructive working relationships with supplementary business departments.
  13. Foster a positive working relationship with external suppliers to maximize business benefit.
Requirements:
  1. Experience in a Transport Management role is essential.
  2. Experience in managing large fleets of HGVs.
  3. Proven track record of working to clearly defined service delivery KPIs.
  4. IT Literate, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
