About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Kitchen Assistant to join our team at HC One. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and quality in our kitchens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and serving of nutritious and healthy meals to our residents
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to strict health and safety protocols
  • Support the kitchen team in maintaining food supplies, fridge/freezer temperatures, and equipment
  • Provide excellent customer service to our residents, responding to their dietary needs and preferences
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan and prepare meals, ensuring variety and nutritional balance
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance culinary skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or willingness to study for one
  • Excellent record-keeping and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow recipes and maintain high standards of food quality
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on kindness and compassion
  • Safeguarding training and ability to recognize signs of abuse or neglect
