Educational Support Assistant

Position Overview
We are looking for dedicated and passionate Educational Support Assistants to join our team within the Dumfries High Cluster. This role is crucial in providing support to students with additional learning needs, helping them to navigate their educational journey and achieve their fullest potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist students in both Learning Centres and mainstream classrooms.
- Support individuals with additional support needs to overcome learning barriers.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
Contract Details
This position is available on a term-time basis, with hours distributed over 39 weeks each year. The contracts are fixed-term and may be suitable for secondment opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidates will possess:
- Education to SCQF Level 4 or equivalent, including competencies in Numeracy and Literacy.
- Experience working with children and/or young people, particularly those with additional support needs, is advantageous.
- A commitment to professional development and training.
Regulatory Requirements
This role is classified as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. Candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to employment.
