Job Overview

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Advanced Mental Health Practitioner to join our Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team as a Telephone Duty Service Specialist. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong clinical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical advice, training, and supervision to junior staff in a multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Deliver high-quality care and services to patients in the community, avoiding hospital admission whenever possible.
  • Work effectively in a busy and fast-paced mental health crisis triage setting, managing complex and sensitive situations.
  • Line manage a team of staff and students, undertaking annual appraisals and supporting their development and career aspirations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with professionals, service users, and their families, ensuring a high level of care and respect.
Requirements
  • Degree in health/social care or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Registered Mental Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Allied Health Professional, or Social Worker with experience in mental health.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team and multi-agency environment, with a focus on mental health crisis triage.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and manage complex situations.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to analyze situations and make informed decisions.
