Job Overview

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join their CAMHS Rapid Response team in Reading.

This exciting role offers the opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals, providing high-quality mental health assessments and short-term interventions to young people experiencing mental health crises.

The successful candidate will have a degree in a relevant field, experience working with mental health and complex needs, and excellent communication skills.

Main Duties
  • Complete comprehensive psychosocial crisis assessments for young people who have presented in crisis.
  • Offer short-term intervention to stabilise the crisis, including follow-up appointments and multi-agency consultation-liaison.
  • Identify ongoing care plan needs for young people and their families, ensuring they are referred to appropriate services.
  • Maintain and develop key relationships with professionals external to the area of service, as well as patients and their families.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of clinical record keeping and ensure all systems, records, and data are stored and transferred correctly.
