Job Description

We are seeking an experienced SEN teaching assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Key Stage 1 pupil with Autism in a fantastic and supportive Primary school based in Hampstead Garden Suburb, N2.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with ASD pupils and knowledge of PECS or Makaton. As a SEN teaching assistant, you will be responsible for implementing specific teaching programmes as instructed by a speech and language therapist and occupational therapist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support for a Key Stage 1 pupil with Autism
  • Implement specific teaching programmes as instructed by a speech and language therapist and occupational therapist
  • Ensure the successful integration of the pupil into the mainstream school
Requirements
  • Experience with ASD
  • Previous experience working within Key Stage 1
  • PECS and Makaton - not essential but highly desirable
