Position Overview

As a vital member of the Evans Cycles team, you will contribute to one of the UK's rapidly expanding retail organizations. Reporting directly to the Area Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing store operations and leading your team.

Key Responsibilities

Operations:
  • Oversee all store operations, ensuring performance meets established KPIs.
  • Coordinate workload planning to optimize team productivity.
  • Make informed decisions and effectively delegate tasks to team members.
  • Ensure compliance with processes and maintain a safe environment for staff and customers.
  • Provide training and coaching to the team to uphold best practices.
  • Utilize business communication tools to track task completion and deadlines.
Controls:
  • Analyze reports to ensure weekly wage controls are adhered to, addressing any issues promptly.
  • Assist in scheduling store shifts in alignment with trading patterns and business needs.
  • Ensure compliance in payroll processing and resolve any discrepancies efficiently.
  • Maintain daily store structure to meet compliance, customer service, and security standards.
  • Take responsibility for wage management.
Sales:
  • Understand customer expectations and motivate the team to deliver exceptional service.
  • Familiarize yourself with product features and benefits, training the team to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Monitor assigned KPI targets and communicate progress to the team.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends, challenges, and competitors.
  • Utilize reports to analyze product performance and drive sales and profitability.
  • Implement merchandising guidelines effectively on the sales floor.
Development:
  • Identify and nurture internal talent, supporting performance management initiatives.
  • Recognize and address performance challenges.
  • Engage in personal development and respond constructively to feedback.
  • Promote the core values of Evans Cycles and encourage team engagement.
  • Facilitate communication between team members and management.
Leadership and Management:
  • Inspire and serve as a role model for the team.
  • Coach and motivate team members to achieve their goals.
  • Assume responsibility for key areas and outcomes.
  • Foster relationships within the store team to align efforts towards common objectives.
  • Collaborate with your Assistant Manager to enhance overall store performance.
Technical Skills:
  • Possess Cytech Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) or complete the Evans Cycles qualification.
  • Adhere to all health and safety protocols.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in bike assembly, repairs, and servicing.
  • Manage service and repair bookings efficiently.
  • Consistently meet build and servicing targets.
  • Conduct safety checks and fit accessories appropriately.
  • Utilize tools and machinery safely, maintaining an organized workspace.
  • Advise customers on products and services that meet their needs.
  • Leverage skills to drive workshop KPIs.
Qualifications:

  • Experience in a supervisory or management role within a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Proven ability to positively influence sales, payroll, and inventory loss.
  • Demonstrated success in developing team members.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Dedicated to supporting the store manager in achieving high standards and customer satisfaction.
