About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Instructor to join our team at Chesham House School, a specialist provision for young people with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.

As an Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons, ensuring the department and school achieve their aims. You will work closely with the Headteacher and other staff members to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to address them
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and develop a cohesive approach to teaching and learning
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the decision-making process
Person Specification
  • Strong understanding of teaching, learning, and qualifications
  • Experience working in non-mainstream settings with challenging learners
  • Ability to empathize and support student development
  • Robust understanding of safeguarding procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team
  • Good general level of education, with a teaching qualification and relevant subject expertise
