Edinburgh, Edinburgh, United Kingdom Alzheimer Scotland Full time

Position Type: Permanent full-time role (consideration for part-time hours available)

Work Environment: This role will primarily operate from a designated dementia resource center, with responsibilities extending across the Fife region.

Alzheimer Scotland stands as the foremost organization dedicated to dementia care in Scotland. Our mission encompasses advocating for the rights of individuals affected by dementia and their families, while delivering a comprehensive array of innovative, personalized, and therapeutic support services.

We are dedicated to enhancing the lives and prospects of those living with dementia, as well as their caregivers, partners, and families, throughout their journey from initial contact to end-of-life care. Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that no one should navigate dementia in isolation.

Are you a proactive individual? Do you possess confidence, creativity, and a collaborative spirit?

If so, this position may align with your aspirations.

We are seeking a Community Outreach Coordinator for the Fife area. In this role, you will assist individuals living with dementia in identifying personal objectives and outcomes, guiding them towards achieving these goals. The outreach service is designed as a short-term intervention and support mechanism, providing direction and assistance to those living with dementia and their caregivers, enabling them to lead fulfilling and independent lives. This may include efforts to alleviate social isolation, foster confidence in utilizing public transport, and engage with the local community.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive outlook towards dementia care. You should be adaptable, inclusive, innovative, and organized in your methodology. Sensitivity and compassion are essential, particularly when supporting individuals during challenging times. Exceptional communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with both individuals and groups. A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to engage in relevant training are also important. A pertinent qualification and prior experience working with individuals with dementia would be advantageous.

In return, you will have the opportunity to connect with remarkable individuals, experience significant job satisfaction, and be part of an organization that provides a variety of employee benefits and opportunities for career advancement.
