About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Drinking Water Safety Plan Analyst to join our team at Bristol Water. As a key member of our Water Quality Management Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and quality of our drinking water supply.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing our Drinking Water Safety Plans, assessing risks to water quality from catchment to consumer, and working closely with our operational teams to identify and mitigate potential hazards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and develop our Drinking Water Safety Plans to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assess risks to water quality from catchment to consumer, identifying potential hazards and developing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Work closely with our operational teams to identify and address potential hazards, ensuring the safety and quality of our drinking water supply.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor water quality and identify potential hazards.
  • Interrogate and analyze water sample data and online monitoring data to inform risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain our QGIS mapping tool to enhance visualisation of risk and support robust water quality risk assessment.
  • Review water quality sample data to validate risk scores and determine the appropriateness of sampling frequency.
  • Liaise with external bodies, such as councils and water companies, to share best practices and stay up-to-date with industry developments.
Requirements
  • Experience in environmental and water science, with a strong understanding of catchment hydrology and land use.
  • Ability to understand and make decisions using scientific data and scientific literature.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel, Power BI, and GIS mapping systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and work effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize effectively, with a strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
