We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Archivist to join our team at the Digital Preservation Coalition. As a Digital Archivist, you will play a critical role in the development, maintenance, and preservation of our digital archives.
Key Responsibilities:- Arranging and Describing Digital Resources: You will be responsible for arranging, describing, and cataloging digital resources in our archive, ensuring they meet the highest standards of preservation and accessibility.
- Stakeholder Relationships: You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to build and manage relationships, ensuring regular archive transfers to our digital repository.
- Research and Cataloging: You will conduct research into our archive material to inform cataloging, collection summaries, provenance, and rights clarification.
- Promoting Digital Archiving: You will promote and educate others in digital archiving, encouraging the use of our archive and developing strategies to increase its visibility.
- Priority Collecting Plan: You will assist in the creation of a priority collecting plan focused on born-digital resources to be added to our archive.
- Digital Preservation System Management: You will support the day-to-day management of our digital preservation system (Preservica) and catalogue (Oracle), including migration and upgrade of data and testing of systems.
- Archive Policies and Procedures: You will assist in the development of archive policies, procedures, reports, and operational planning in line with international archive standards.
- Enquiry Services: You will assist with the delivery of archive enquiry services in our Search Room, including guided tours and events.
- Research and Special Initiatives: You will assist with research, special initiatives, lectures, exhibitions, and other activities within our Archives forward plan.
- Supervision and Training: You will supervise trainees, volunteers, and other members of staff undertaking work in the archive.
- Project Planning and Reporting: You will assist with project planning, assembling performance indicators, and preparing reports.
