Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Digital Archivist to lead our digital preservation efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a digital preservation strategy, managing digital collections, and ensuring the long-term security of our digital archives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a digital preservation strategy for the long-term security of our digital archives.
- Manage and maintain our digital collections, ensuring they are properly cataloged and accessible.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and address digital preservation needs.
- Develop and implement workflows for processing and preserving born-digital archives.
- Engage with the wider digital preservation community to stay up-to-date on best practices and emerging trends.
- Liaise with colleagues to develop and implement a collections framework for paper and digital material.
- Contribute to the development of a vision, strategy, and action plan for the Archive Service.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Strong knowledge of digital preservation principles and best practices.
- Experience in managing digital collections and developing digital preservation strategies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
