Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a GP Reception Team Leader. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the reception team, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice, and providing excellent customer service to our patients.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the reception team and ensure the effective management of reception duties
  • Co-ordinate and participate in reception duties, ensuring the smooth operation of the practice
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, responding to their queries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of new staff members
  • Monitor and maintain the practice's intranet and shared drive, ensuring that all relevant information is up-to-date and accessible
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new procedures and processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the practice
  • Be the first point of contact for patient complaints and concerns, escalating issues to management as necessary

Requirements

  • Flexibility to work outside of core office hours
  • Motivation and enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer literacy and keyboard skills, including data input
  • Experience of working with the general public and in a healthcare setting

Qualifications and Experience

  • English and Mathematics GCSE Grade C or above
  • Experience of managing a team and providing excellent customer service
  • Experience of administrative duties in a healthcare setting
  • Desirable: AMSPAR Receptionists Qualification, NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, experience of using SystmOne software, and experience of working in a Primary Care setting
