About Us

The Catastrophic Loss division at DWF stands as one of the largest in the UK, gaining national recognition for its expertise. We represent a multitude of prominent insurers, including many well-known brands, managing intricate, catastrophic, and high-value claims.

Our team addresses a diverse array of significant cases, with values ranging from £150k to £20m, encompassing Road Traffic Accidents (RTAs) and matters related to Employers Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL).

While our primary operations are based in our Southampton office, we embrace flexible working arrangements and remote opportunities from various locations across England.

About the Role

  • Collaborate with partners to oversee a portfolio of high-value claims, including various defendant catastrophic injury, EL/PL, and RTA cases.
  • Prepare legal documents, client reports, attend court proceedings, adhere to court timelines, conduct liability investigations, gather evidence, engage experts, and explore complex medical causation issues.
  • Effectively prioritize tasks to enhance efficiency in work practices, ensuring compliance with court deadlines and client service agreements.
  • Foster internal and external relationships to maintain client connections, expand business networks, and develop a comprehensive understanding of the Firm's objectives and client requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support, acting as a resource for junior team members.

About You

Essential Qualifications

  • 2-6 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE).
  • Strong technical background and genuine interest in Employers Liability, Public Liability, RTA, and catastrophic injury law.
  • Proven experience managing high-value defendant personal injury cases, either independently or as part of a senior team.
  • Familiarity with a commercial legal environment.
