About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Night Shift Supervisor to join our team at Biffa's Ford site. As a key member of our Resources & Energy division, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our waste management facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead the night shift team to maintain high standards of health and safety and production performance.
- Operate mobile and fixed plant as part of your principle responsibilities.
- Monitor and review production teams to ensure continuous improvement.
- Report and record deficiencies within the plant.
- Monitor staff training and compliance and support the management of production teams.
- Liaise with the management team on the plant's operational performance.
- Deputise in the absence of the Shift Leader and assume responsibility for the site.
- Liaise with external and internal customers in a professional manner.
- Assist in the investigation of accidents and incidents.
- Assist the team in achieving the site's KPI.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Working knowledge of health and safety, IOSH (desirable).
- Knowledge and understanding of ISO accreditations and requirements.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word etc).
- Previous experience and knowledge gained in the waste sector (desirable).
- Previous management/supervisor experience of working with large teams predominantly in production/manufacturing environments (essential).
- A general understanding of engineering/mechanical principles (desirable).
