Assistant Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at Farmfoods. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of our shop, working closely with the Shop Manager to ensure the smooth running of the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Shop Manager in the management of the shop, including staff supervision, customer service, and stock control.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve sales, customer satisfaction, and staff engagement.
  • Monitor and control operational costs, including shrinkage, waste, and payroll.
  • Support the Shop Manager with recruitment, induction, and training of new team members.
  • Take responsibility for the shop in the absence of the Shop Manager, ensuring that customers are looked after and shop routines are completed.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a manager or team leader in a retail environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff and customers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and bank holidays.
