Job Title: Part-Time KS2 Primary School Teacher

Location: Christchurch

Salary: Paid to Teacher Scale (MPS/UPS)

Contract: Fixed-term (maternity cover)

We are seeking a passionate primary school teacher to join our team as a part-time Key Stage 2 class teacher. This role is a fixed-term position, starting in January 2025, and would include working alongside and job share. If you are seeking a 3 day a week teaching role, enabling you to have a better work-life balance, then this could be the right fit for you.

The school is a wonderful one-form entry mainstream primary school in Christchurch, seeking a part-time Key Stage 2 class teacher to start in January 2025 until the end of the academic year. The school is mainstream, but there are pupils within the class with SEN or SEMH needs who require additional support. You will have support staff to work alongside you to ensure that the pupils receive the correct tailored support and provision.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and teach engaging lessons that meet the individual needs of primary school students
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported and motivated
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to create a calm and focused learning atmosphere
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing feedback to students and their parents
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to enhance student development and well-being

Requirements:

  • Teaching Certification (QTS/PGCE)
  • Solid knowledge of the primary school curriculum and teaching strategies
  • Previous experience in a primary school (placements during training considered)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, adaptability, and a passion for nurturing young minds
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning needs
