Job Description

Job Title: BI / Data Analyst (Hybrid)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst to join our data analytics team at So Energy. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in leveraging data to drive strategic decisions and solve complex challenges for the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify reporting and data opportunities, analyse trends, and present back insights with potential solutions to solve key business challenges.
  • Analyse data to identify trends and patterns, and curate the quality, consistency, and completeness of data to ensure that the quality of insights are complete and relevant.
  • Script data transformation and business rules in SQL, and research new data sources which will add value into the reporting that you will be delivering.
  • Support the business in ad-hoc data analysis and data supply covering auditing, marketing campaigns, and customer segmentation.
  • Design dashboards that follow intuitive data flow and presentation for easier end-user consumption and decision making.
  • Input and guide on new standards to improve the performance of our Looker environment using LookML and improve the landscape of reporting and insights to the business.
  • Perform data reconciliation tasks to ensure that new reporting outputs are aligned or of better accuracy than existing reports.
  • Write quality technical documentation of SQL coding as well as dashboards delivered.
  • Contribute as part of an agile team with sprint planning sessions and daily stand-ups.

Requirements:

  • Proven hands-on experience with Google Looker, including building and maintaining a high-performing semantic layer in LookML and creating insightful and actionable dashboards for end users.
  • Ability to provide technical support to other teams within the organisation as required.
  • A strong SQL background with a deep understanding of how to use SQL and interrogate data in the context of business objectives.
  • A team player, contributing towards the upliftment of our overall BI capability and supporting junior team members to produce higher quality outputs.
